Duo shows

Storyteller Hugh Lupton and I created four shows together. Two were simply performed by us two with a few instruments, Hugh telling and me composing, singing and playing.

These were Branwen, commissioned by David Ambrose at Beyond The Border, Tristan and Isolde for the The International Festival of Arts & Ideas in New Haven, USA, and Aphrodite and the Gods of Love for the Getty Villa Los Angeles. Both the last two were thanks to invitations from curator/dramaturg Norman Frisch. We toured both Branwen and Tristan and Isolde to Argentina and Chile for the British Council.

We also created A Norfolk Songline based on the story of the Peddars Way in Norfolk with environmental artist Liz McGowan and singer Sian Crosse and musician Jane Wells. Later we twice walked the whole five day path with participants as we sung and told the stories and from time to time Liz’s work would appear unexpectedly in the landscape.
